Nikkor Z 28-75mm f/2.8 Lens Specifications

bythom 28-75mm

Thom's Commentary: The 28-75mm f/2.8 was a surprising addition to the lineup, and one that further confuses the mid-range zoom choice. For me, the 28mm wide end isn't wide enough, but that may not be the case for you. This lens is the first of the Tamrikon lenses (the Tamron f/2.8 zooms in Nikon cladding). Tamron makes those lenses under contract for Nikon. The nice thing about these f/2.8 Tamrikon lenses is that they all use 67mm filters. The bad news about this particular lens is that it’s Tamron’s G1 design; they later came up with a G2 design that’s a little better optically. While good optically, this lens is one I’d say wait for a discount to buy. Generally, at the US$900 price we see this lens discounted to at times, it's a good choice for someone that needs a mid-range option faster than f/4, but still small and travel-friendly.
