Battery Packs and Vertical Grips

  • Nikon MB-N10 Battery Pack — works on Z5, Z6, Z7, Z6 II, and Z7 II and allows use of two EN-EL15 batteries and USB charging. Does not have any buttons or shutter release, and is not textured as a vertical grip needs to be.
  • Nikon MB-N11 Battery Grip — only works on Z6 II and Z7 II and allows use of two EN-EL15 batteries and USB charging. Has a (lockable) shutter release, both command dials, a thumb stick, AF-ON button, and a programmable Fn button just behind the shutter release (controlled by CSM #F9 and #G7). Also has a textured cover where the hands rests.
  • Nikon MB-N12 Battery Grip — only works on the Z8, and allows use of two EN-EL15 batteries and USB charging. Has a (lockable) shutter release, both command dials, a thumb stick, AF-ON button, and a programmable Fn button just behind the shutter release (controlled by CSM #F9 and #G7). Also has a textured cover where the hands rests.
  • MCOplus BG-Z6Z7 Battery Grip — works on Z5, Z6, Z7, Z6 II, and Z7 II and allows use of two EN-EL15 batteries and USB charging. Has a shutter release that is active when a cable is plugged in between the grip and the camera. There's also a slightly more expensive version that includes a remote wireless transmitter.
  • Anker PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD 45W — this battery pack is the only USB Power Delivery device Nikon has tested and claims works with the Zfc, Z30, Z5, Z6 II, Z7 II, and Z9 USB Power Delivery capabilities. It's the battery pack/charging system that is called out in the Nikon manuals. Other batteries that support USB Power Delivery should work fine, but if you do have issues, Nikon may simply disclaim them because you're not using a tested device.
