Thom's Commentary: When Nikon names a lens in addition to providing specs (e.g. NOCT, Plena), it means that they think it exemplary in some way. With this new Plena lens, Nikon is promising edge-to-edge perfection, even wide open. Specifically, clarity is said to be high, and vignetting is said to be nearly non-existent.
